IRMA-JOY TINUS is an accomplished professional artist whose works include vibrant landscapes,seascapes and florals in oil and lush watercolours that depict God's message of love to a fallen world. She is known for her teaching ability using the allegory of "God's masterpiece, the canvas of your life" as a basis for inspirational devotions during her oil painting classes. Her desire is to surrender more fully to the Holy Spirit; love Him more deeply, pursue Him more passionately, drawing inspiration from Him as her source of creativity.
From the Heart of the Artist
God has called me to reach,along with other artists, out to the heart and souls of people and to raise the "trumpet" regarding His great love, mercy and forgiveness at such a time as this. He has purposed to use the avenue of visuals and sound as a means of reaching our world with the gospel. I surrender my hands, my heart and this ministry to God. He is my daily bread, the very breath I breathe and my portion.
Vision
God has gifted artists with talents that can make an enormous impact in thelives of people. He gave art to lift our hearts and release thanksgiving, because we "enter His gates with thanksgiving" (see Psalm 100:4). All of the awe and wonder of His creation was intended to draw us closer to Him. There is a special revelation of the Lord that can come through art which touches His basic nature as the Creator. This is why those who know Him are changed into His image and by seeing Him should also be creative. Creativity is His basic nature. In the Bible, artists were the first people to be filled with the Holy Spirit. (Exodus 31:1-5) Bezalel was first filled with the Spirit. It is noteworthy that the Hebrew verb mashach, which means "to anoint" is defined as "to smear with oil, or paint". There is an anointing or "painting" of the Spirit.
Artists are being raised up whose gifts of healing and deliverance will be projected through their art. People will just look at it, or hear the song, and be healed or set free. There will be paintings that simply grip the souls of those who see them so that they give their lives to the service of the king. This is what I envision with Artistic Praise Ministry.
